Peek-A-Bootique's consignment service provides basic resale opportunities with a fun touch of “bootique” flair, allowing residents of Mount Brydges and surrounding communities the opportunity to turn their gently used

items into cash.

Raegan encourages you to pass previously loved things on to customers who can give them a good home, reinforcing the “reduce, reuse, resell” concept. If you are interested in becoming a consignor in partnership with Peek-A-Bootique, please read the following information before bringing any items into the store.

At Peek-A-Bootique, we accept seasonal children's clothing in sizes newborn to 6x. We also take gently used baby gear and equipment, nursery furniture and decor, toys, books, DVDs, CDs, and more!!!

To open an account, bring your previously loved items to us so we can take a look at them. We do recommend calling us before you bring any items in to Peek-A-Bootique; that way, we can make sure we have the time needed to go through your things and select the ones that we would like to keep for the store (unfortunately, we will not always be able to take everything our consignors bring in). It is particularly important that you call if you plan on bringing in large gear and equipment to ensure we have the space!

Items are selected on basis of condition/style, supply and demand, and in co-ordinance with current health & safety regulations. Please don’t take it personally if we say ‘no thank you’ to some of your items. We will take a maximum of sixty clothing items from each consignor at a time, so please take the time to go through your items and choose the 'cream of the crop!'.

Please see below for general Consignment Guidelines to help you prepare your items for consignment at Peek-A-Bootique and for more information on what items are/aren’t accepted. Remember--the better your items look, the more money you'll make! And the better the label or style and condition, the higher the value. If you're unsure whether your items are fit for resale at the Bootique, ask yourself "would I buy this if I saw it in a store?".

While your items are being sorted through, you will be given a Consignment Agreement to read over and sign, and you will be issued a Consignor Number (this is the number you will provide when you call to check your account balance).

Peek-A-Bootique sets the selling price and we promise to sell your items at the best possible prices, while offering value to customers. When an item sells, the consignor (you!) receives 40-50% of the selling price, depending on how you choose to manage your account.

Our Consignor Incentive Program provides in-store credit and allows you to receive 50% of the sale price of your items for use toward any store purchases. If you choose a cash pay-out, you will receive 40% of the sale price of your items.

Peek-A-Bootique will display your items on consignment for approximately 60 days, or two months.

Peek-A-Bootique is proud to promote work-at-home moms while supporting small business and the local economy. Most importantly, we donate a large portion of unsold items to the Women’s Rural Resource Centre in Strathroy, an emergency shelter, to help offset some of the expenses they incur.

General guidelines and information for consignors:

1.  All items must be completely free of stains, have no rips or tears. Children's hoodies, coats, pants, etc. should not have drawstrings (strangulation hazard).
2.  All buttons must be present, zippers and snaps must work, hems must be intact.
3.  All clothing items must be freshly laundered with fabric softener (this is to avoid that 'thrift store' smell). Clothing items covered in pet hair and smelling like smoke will not be accepted.
4.  All children's clothing items must be placed neatly in bins, totes, paper bags, or cardboard boxes. Please do not bring them in garbage bags (this creates wrinkles and makes clothes look shabby).
5.  Clothing must be in-season, in-style, and in excellent, like-new condition. We prefer brands like Gymboree, Old Navy, Children's Place, Roots, Tommy, Gap, Please Mum, Osh Kosh, etc. We rarely accept generic brands like Simply Basic, Ragscals, BUM, Wardrobe Essentials, etc.
6.  Toys must be clean and in complete working order, including all pieces and working batteries must be present (otherwise, it's hard for us to tell if it works or not). If batteries are not included, we will provide them and charge them to your account.
7.  Sorry, but we do not accept stuffed animals (except Beanie Babies or Webkinz) or miscellaneous small toys (i.e., 'Happy Meal' toys). Only sturdy plastic or wooden puzzles are accepted (no 1000-piece puzzles, please!). Books must be in decent condition with no torn/bent pages and with little or no scribbling inside.
8.  Strollers and other gear should be given a good cleaning before they are brought in (i.e., check wheels/bottoms for dried mud etc. and make sure fabric/seat is free of noticeable stains). Whenever possible, please include the owner’s manual and assembly instructions.
9.  All gear/equipment should be less than 5-8 years old as all items must meet today's safety standards.  We will return to consignor any items which have been recalled.
10. We accept large gear and equipment as space allows. Please call before bringing in larger items, like Exercausers, workstations, etc. Outdoor equipment will be placed outside during summer months and on our in-store Community Bulletin board during the winter.
11. Due to liability concerns, we rarely accept second hand car seats. If you have a travel system (i.e., stroller-car seat combo), you will be required to sign a waiver for the seat.
12. Due to health and safety concerns, we cannot accept second hand breast pumps, socks, underwear, bras, etc.

Thank you so much for your interest in consigning with Peek-A-Bootique and we look forward to working with you!

Important Information for Consignors:

During high intake months (i.e., September and March), the Bootique fills up very quickly as more items are coming in than going out the door!

It is imperative that you call before bringing any items in to consign. This will save you the hassle of rounding up your items and making a trip, only to be turned away.

You may even need to schedule an appointment in high intake months, especially September and March (depending on how busy things are at that particular time).
There is also a chance that no consignments will be accepted at all on Tuesdays and Saturdays during these busy months, so please call first!
